Our Own Home As Long As Possible.
We wish we would have had coaching available during the five years we worked with Becky's parents. We are using that experience to drive my own coaching with you. Check out the info below to see if I'm a good fit for your circumstances.
What you need to know:
1. What I bring to the table - I've worked with people in church settings as an education staff person for 25 years and been a health trainer for 10 years. That has included training/teaching large groups as well as working with individuals and small groups. I have been on staff at a church of primarily Older Adults, and an administrator of an organization focused on ministry with and for older adults until family health concerns brought me home full time. I worked for a short stretch as a home care provider. My wife and I were directly engaged for five years with Becky's parents during their journey from living in their own home to living in Senior Living Facilities. Her parents had major health issues including chronic heart failure and Alzheimer's.
2. What I am NOT - I am not a medical professional. I am not a professional counselor. I am not a legal expert.
3. Who is it for? - Coaching is helpful for the older adult getting ready to, or in the process of making important decisions about where to live and what support services might be needed. Also helpful for adult children of the aging parents who want help in the process of helping them.
4. The Process - Once you sign up and order a coaching session, I will be in immediate contact to coordinate the scheduling of the coaching. I will also send a short email with a few questions I ask you to answer to help focus the coaching time. At the Coaching sessions, I will have a structure we will follow, fully allowing for you questions and concerns to be answered.
